Living on the fourth floor of Emniyet Apartment Building, Mr. Mithat has, against all threats he has faced, managed to protect his collection, which he has been working on since years and that has left him with only a small space to live in. Any piece that he searches for to maintain the coherence of the collection could lead him anywhere in Istanbul. For Mr. Mithat, Istanbul is as unlimited as his collection. For Ali, Istanbul is limited with Emniyet Apartment Building and its surroundings. Coming from the village to Istanbul, Ali started to work as concierge in the apartment , and when his daughter contracted asthma due to the humidity in the concierge`s floor, Ali sent his family back to their home in the village for a while until the conditions were ameliorated. When the other tenants of the apartment building, out of fear of an earthquake and with the ambition to own a more valuable building, prefer to have the building demolished to be rebuilt again, Mr. Mithat begins the most challenging of wars he gave for his collection. The building now is the shared destiny of these two men who live alone. Their relationship that begins to keep the collection intact takes on a different level with Mr. Mithat turning Istanbul over to Ali, and it ends where they change each other`s destinies unknowingly.

Kali, a darling-though-curious 10-year-old Bikinian girl, watches in dismay as her mother and father argue bitterly, then finally separate and leave the island.
Left alone to care for her elderly grandfather, Jebuki, who has been hiding a life-threatening illness, Kali deteriorates, refusing to eat, work or play. Fearing for his granddaughter’s wellbeing, Jebuki makes a desperate decision to summon Worejabato, an ancient deity from Bikini Atoll. Appearing in the form of an unshaven American stranger, Worejabato washes up on the beach on Ejit Island, and is discovered by Kali. The deity immediately begins to weave his way into Kali's life, but wishes from Worejabato do not come for free. What will Jebuki promise to Worejabato to ensure Kali’s happiness?

Literally translated, the title means 'The Moon Pierced by Wild Grass,' and the film tells the story of the relationship between an aged traditional song teacher named Waluyo, his folk music disciple Ilalang (who has to cope with memories of his abusive father) and the lovely dancer Bulan, who Ilalang has loved for a long time. The feature is set in Solo, where the vestiges of feudal Javanese culture can still be found, and gamelan music is heard throughout. It is an intensely emotional meditation upon the relationship between the generations and the role of music in the search for recovery from a traumatic past and for identity in an uncertain present. Director Garin Nugroho, who has described himself as 'a Javanese living amidst multiculturalism,' and who celebrates Indonesian cultural diversity in such films as A Poet, here explores Javanese culture. He sees this film as 'encompassing at the same time refinement and cruelty, softness and tyranny, and a beauty based on feudalism.' Awards/Festivals: Best Director Award, Nantes International Film Festival. Special Jury Prize at the Nantes Three Continent Film Festival.

Aries is the code of living in Heaven, until one day the passion comes and forbidden fruits fall to the earth.' So begins Aries by talented experimental filmmaker Faozan Rizal. This visually arresting work is set against the backdrop of Java's stunning natural beauty. Oscillating between the stark landscape of Cerebon in West Java, and the verdant lushness of Wanagama Forest, Aries is a meditation on the varying expressions of love -- at once passionate and anguished -- between a man and a woman. Despite at times occupying the same physical space, the protagonists each indulge in the privacy of their separate inner-worlds. Richly philosophical in its approach, Aries' appeal comes from the fact that as an experimental work it contains an endless thread of meaning and metaphor for viewers to explore.
