Description: Predecessor to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), the Foreign Office (FO) was formed in 1782 to focus on the United Kingdom's foreign relations matters. In this collection from the National Archives at Kew, general FO correspondence relating to the United States between the years 1793-1905 is highlighted. This includes 2625 volumes of public records.
