Description: This collection from the National Archives at Kew includes records from the British Embassy and Consular archives at the Foreign Office (FO) from 1791-1967. The Foreign Office (FO) was formed in 1782 to focus on the United Kingdom's foreign relations matters. Records include general correspondence as well as birth, marriage and death registers and other legal documentation from the British embassy and consulates in the United States.
