Four densely typed pages with torn corners contain a report on Kiriwinian trading expeditions to other Trobriand Islands and beyond, prepared for M.H. Moreton, Resident Magistrate of the South Eastern District, Papua, New Guinea. Malinowski offers a summary overview of the Kula trading cycle, noting that some voyages trade in usable goods and food, while others trade in symbolic wealth items. Described are: customs and practices of canoe preparation and launch; sailing; trading and relations with other villages; and departures and returns. The notes end with lists of trade items exported from and imported to Kiriwina. A title is handwritten on one corner of the back of the last page, such that it will be in the upper right corner when the entire package is folded.

The written content contains portions that are crossed out or underlined, sometimes in blue pencil, and is arranged in boxed sections on the pages. The information is apparently written on the backs of the typed pages -- but the content of the typed material is very similar, suggesting that one set of page faces may be transcriptions or revisions of the others.
