Special Extra! 30,000 KILLED AS 'QUAKE LEAVES MILLIONS HOMELESS
CALCUTTA, INDIA. -- First pictures of the terrific destruction caused by one of history's greatest cataclysms.
These views vividly depict the extent of the havoc and the great suffering and privation experienced by Indian men, women and children of all castes.

Graphic evidence of the results of nature's rampage is to be seen. Solidly constructed buildings, great railroad terminals and bridges, as well as whole cities, crumbled to the dust. Damage reaches $100,000,000.
These pictures include bird's-eye views taken from Universal Newsreel's camera-plane, which flew over the stricken land. Together with the scenes taken in wrecked cities, towns and villages, they make a remarkable film story of the greatest holocaust of modern times.
