An interview with Maria Ressa, a journalist in the Philippines. Ressa details the oppressive regime of President Rodrigo Duterte that threatens violence against the press and creates a constant sense of danger. Ressa was named the Time magazine person of the year for her reporting on Duterte’s aggressive drug war, under threats of prison and violence. She has been arrested twice. Ressa says she will not be intimidated out of her battle for truth in the Philippines. Salvador Panelo, a presidential spokesman claims that criticisms of Duterte’s drug war are exaggerated. Ressa’s website has reported Duterte’s administration has killed over 20,000 people in the drug war, while the administration claim only 5,000. In the last 3 years, a dozen journalists in the Philippines have been shot or beaten to death, and Ressa has been dismissed as “fake news” by Duterte. Includes an interview with Salvador Panelo, a spokesman for Duterte.

Now Kim says that he has nuclear weapons - and that he's prepared to sell them to whoever will pay his price. George Bush put North Korea on the 'Axis of Evil' shortlist, but is Kim really plotting to destroy the planet or is the nickname 'Dr Evil' indicative of nothing more than a battle of words in the Cold War's last frontier? Correspondent charts Kim's progress from lazy student through terrorist mastermind to tough-talking nuclear brinksman.

The year 2023 marks the 30th anniversary of the Wang-Koo Meeting between Taiwan and mainland China. In April 1993, the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) and the Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) held a historic meeting in Singapore. It was the first officially authorized meeting between these civil organizations since 1949. Four agreements were signed during the meeting, which set the stage for the following three decades of cross-strait relations. Our crew traveled to Taiwan, mainland China, and Singapore to shoot on-site footage commemorating this significant historical moment. They interviewed participants, witnesses, and individuals with firsthand knowledge of the events. Through its oral accounts and archival footage, the documentary presents the entire process of preparation and conduct of the Wang-Koo Meeting, shedding light on commonly overlooked historical details of cross-strait exchanges.
