Abstinence Comes to Albuquerque provides a glimpse into a nationwide debate over what young people should be taught about sexuality. Through personal stories, community profiles, and expert interviews, the program highlights the differences between a strict abstinence-only-until-marriage approach and more comprehensive sexuality education. In the documentary film a ninth grader tells her mother that she’s heard some unusual things from a sexuality education program in her school. The family talks about their problems with the program, and a school board member speaks about its weaknesses. The film then profiles an abstinence-only-until-marriage program as well as a more balanced sexuality education program. Following the documentary are interviews with national experts on sexuality education and adolescent health.

Acting Like a Thief is about a Chhara tribal theatre group in Ahmedabad, India. Starting with the arrest of playwright DaKxin Bajrange (Chhara), the documentary reveals how the Budhan Theatre has transformed the lives of adults and children within the community. Chhara tribals were notified as "natural criminals" by the British in 1871 and imprisoned in a labor camp in Ahmedabad. After Indian independence, they were de-notified, but the stigma of being a "born criminal" follows them to this day. The Budhan Theatre was inspired by the activism work of Mahasweta Devi.

Bradbury was filming the native American Indian protest at Standing Rock when America woke to the news. America once was Great. Due largely to the hard work, innovation of its people…and exploiting the resources and labor of other people to its greater gain. America and Me chronicles how the hawks have come home to roost in the nest of America itself, 40 years after Ronald Reagan championed the economic theories of Milton Friedman and his infamous Chicago Boys. America and Me interviews veterans of America’s failed wars to maintain Empire, gets down in the gutter with the homeless to find out what life is like on the streets, speaks to a nun who was violated by the military junta in Guatemala under the directions of a CIA operative, goes to the US/ Mexican border where Trump plans to build the Wall, exposes the deadly connection between CIA HQ Langley, Virginia to CIA spy base Pine Gap in Australia, responsible for the death of hundreds of children and adults from drone attacks….and ends up at Standing Rock where private security guards turned dogs onto non-violent protestors and sprayed mace at point blank range. Bradbury uses telling moments from his earlier films shot on the edge of the American Colossus – Nicaragua No Pasaran, Chile Hasta Cuando? A unique and highly visual documentary that provides a detailed observation of the sacred Peruvian "Yawar Fiesta of the Apu Condor". The Fiesta takes place high in the Peruvian Andes in the tiny village of Cotabambas, an impoverished farming community where all the contradictions that characterize Peru's splintered culture and economy are thrown into relief. Five hundred years after the arrival of Columbus and the Spanish Conquistadores, the indigenous Andinos, descendents of the Incas still live under the feudal control of their Mestizo Landowners, the mixed blood descendents of the Spanish. The themes of social stratification, ritual reversal and political relationships are an integral aspect of this film which culminates in a dramatic adaptation of the classic Spanish bullfight.

The conflict developed between the villagers of Mishimishimabowei-teri and their visitors from another village. The visitors had formerly been part of Mishimishimabowei-teri, and many still had ties with members of that village. A fight broke out in Mishimishimabowei-teri on the second day of Chagnon and Asch's stay in this village in 1971. The conflict developed between the villagers of Mishimishimabowei-teri and their visitors from another village. The visitors had formerly been part of Mishimishimabowei-teri, and many still had ties with members of that village. They refused to work in their hosts' gardens, yet they demanded to be fed. The event lasted about half an hour, ten minutes of which were filmed. The film is constructed of four parts. The first consists of an unedited version of what the cameraman saw and the sound technician recorded. The apparent chaos of these first ten minutes is clarified in the second section, in which Chagnon explains the sequence of actions, the relationships between the actors, and how the filmmakers' interpretation of the events became coherent. The third section diagrams the lineages in the villages involved to illustrate the fight's relationship to long-standing patterns of conflict and alliance within the village. Finally, in an edited version of the fight, we see how the editors' hands shape the "reality" we view. The Ax Fight thus operates on several levels. It plunges the viewer into the problems of Yanomamo kinship, alliance, and village fission; of violence and conflict resolution. At the same time it raises questions about how anthropologists and filmmakers translate their experience into meaningful words and coherent, moving images.

Balkan Rhapsodies is an episodic documentary poem that interweaves a mosaic of encounters, observations, and reflections from Silva's travels throughout war-torn Serbia and Kosovo between 1999-2005. An American filmmaker and ethnographer, Jeff Daniel Silva, was the first US civilian allowed entry into a devastated Serbia in 1999 just days after the NATO bombings. Balkan Rhapsodies is an episodic documentary poem that interweaves a mosaic of encounters, observations, and reflections from Silva's travels throughout war-torn Serbia and Kosovo between 1999-2005. An American filmmaker and ethnographer, Jeff Daniel Silva, was the first US civilian allowed entry into a devastated Serbia in 1999 just days after the NATO bombings. By immersing himself intimately into the lives of people he meets, the film grapples with the inexplicable contradictions he encounters while digging deeper in search for comprehension. Using the 78 days of NATO bombings (March 24 - June 10, 1999) as a structural reference point, this documentary infuses the fragmentation, cultural incongruities and ultimate dissolution of the Former Yugoslavia into the fabric of its editing through a poetic assemblage of 78 episodic movements (measures). Inspired by the rhapsodic musical form as well as a penchant for Serbia's potent national drink (šljivovica), the film weaves Silva's footage gleaned over eight years incorporating it with cultural imagery, archival material, and informal conversations with American luminaries Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn. Balkan Rhapsodies deftly balances a serious and humorous landscape that captures the essence of life in the Balkan's of a generation ensnared in war during the Milosevic years.

Toby, noted Japanese historian, examines ways in which the Japanese have expressed their understanding of the foreign such as Koreans, Okinawans, Chinese and Americans, both black and white. For four months, from February to May 1990, filmmaker Jacqueline Veuve and her team filmed a platoon engaged in basic training at Colombier, Switzerland. This film deals with the issue of mandatory military service in Switzerland. For four months, from February to May 1990, filmmaker Jacqueline Veuve and her team filmed a platoon engaged in basic training at Colombier, Switzerland. Having previously filmed recruitment, Veuve was now allowed to document exercises, inspections and rest breaks. Although she interviewed the entire platoon on several occasions, the film focusses on five recruits from different parts of French-speaking Switzerland, each with a different background and a unique opinion on serving in the military. Time is also spent on the superior officers; the Colonel, the Major, the platoon-leader, and a Corporal. The recruits' remarks underline problems concerning not only the army, but life in general, including unemployment, drugs and the many changes going on in the world today.

Filmmaker Rehad Desai takes us on an intimate journey mapped out by the scars etched into his family's life from having a father who was intensely involved in politics. Barney Desai was a political hero during South Africa's struggle for freedom, yet as a father he was damagingly absent emotionally. Rehad spent most of his young life in exile and became politically active himself. On this intensely personal journey into his past, Rehad realizes he is following in his fathers footsteps as he reviews his relationship with his own estranged teenage son.
