MACHIAS, ME.--A festive day for school children on their annual outing turns into tragedy as a motorboat founders only a few hundred yards off shore, carrying twelve children between five and thirteen to their death. Only four of the party were saved. Grieving parents hold a mass funeral for the victims and the entire town mourns the little victims of the terrible disaster.
