Boas says a closer relationship between anthropology and psychology is essential and that a 'course on race differences is almost indispensable at the present time.' In particular, Boas requests funding to expand his research on growth and development variabilities, which he says proves that the 'assumption of uniform racial characteristics' -- the basis of Nazism -- 'is without any foundation.'
