With Saddam Hussein gone, North Korea's Kim Jong-il is regarded as the world's most dangerous man. Millions have died of famine and dissidents are sent to labour camps or executed. Now Kim says that he has nuclear weapons - and that he's prepared to sell them to whoever will pay his price. George Bush put North Korea on the 'Axis of Evil' shortlist, but is Kim really plotting to destroy the planet or is the nickname 'Dr Evil' indicative of nothing more than a battle of words in the Cold War's last frontier? Correspondent charts Kim's progress from lazy student through terrorist mastermind to tough-talking nuclear brinksman.

Filmed on location at La Plata, Castro's former guerrilla headquarters- the first time any foreign film crew had been permitted there - the documentary examines the origins of Castro's revolution, and its ultimate successes and failures. It places U.S.-Cuban relations within the context of history, dating back to the Spanish-American War in 1898. The documentary goes on to paint a canvas of everyday Cuban life. It contrasts the successes of Cuba - medical care, education and housing - with the often repressive political measures implemented by the Castro government. We hear from Cuban artists, State Department officials, exiled writers, and Fidel Castro himself. We visit the Psychiatric Hospital, the Women's Prison, and a library to see what books are available. This film does full justice to its complex subject. It is neither a rationale for Communist Cuba nor a political tool for Cuban exiles. It will interest audiences of all political persuasions. Description
By 22 November 1963, the date of his assassination, President Kennedy had made many enemies. He had declared war on the Mafia, racial prejudice and the industrial/military interest in Vietnam. He had humiliated Krushchev and Castro, who both wanted revenge over the Cuban Missile Crisis. Even to this
day, conjecture surrounds the ballistics evidence and whether two assassins were involved. New film material from Washington has just been released.
