She founded an alternative education system and opened a theatre group for Palestinian children where her son, Juliano Mer Khamis, was a director. The theater group struggled to continue after Arna died in 1995 and ultimately did not survive. Five years after Arna’s death, Juliano returns to the camp to discover what happened to Arna’s children. Mer Khamis’s film juxtaposes the sweet-faced young boys with the militants and martyrs they become. Arna’s Children reveals the tragedy and horror of young lives trapped by the circumstances of occupation.

It appears so when you look at these examples: *In Southwestern China, hundreds of thousands of village residents have difficulty in getting enough water for daily usage. * A serious water pollution incident has led to the extinct of many native fish species in Dianchi Lake in southwestern China. * Lack of water treatment systems in many regions of China contribute to the water pollution problems. Although famous traditional Chinese songs celebrate the beauty of Chinese Rivers, the songs are now as source of embarrassment to the people of China. This is because most rivers in China are now terribly polluted. Although China achieved an industrial civilization in record time, it came at a horrible cost to the rivers in China. The pursuit of profit, the inability to create adequate water systems, and greed contributed to serious water pollution problems. Now the question is how can we make the water clean? And what have we learned? Water serves as a mirror, clearly reflecting the morality and conscience of a nation and all human kind.

Abandoned by its Palestinian owner in the 1948 war, requisitioned by the Israeli government as vacant, rented to Jewish Algerian immigrants in 1956 and purchased by a university professor who undertakes its transformation into a three - story house in 1980, this West Jerusalem building is no longer the microcosm it was 25 years ago. Concrete reality has transformed into scattered stories and memories. A new identity, a new diaspora, has evolved....

The directors - James Leong and Lynn Lee -- started their research in 2003, and it evolved into a year-long project. Rumidja is initially not in favor of this proposed marriage but supports it, anyway, hoping that it will keep her son off the streets. In the working-class neighborhood in Jakarta, she notices that the mentality has changed...
The 62-year-old widow Rumidja is, just like in The Position of the Sun, the central figure in the story. Her son Bakti is determined to become a Muslim because he has met a girl who demands it of him before she will marry him. Rumidja is initially not in favor of this proposed marriage but supports it, anyway, hoping that it will keep her son off the streets. In the working-class neighborhood in Jakarta, she notices that the mentality has changed a lot. Since the strong "Islamization" in response to an attack somewhere in faraway New York, she no longer feels at home there. She has decided to spend her old age in her native village where she still has a piece of land that she would have inherited. But in the village, there appear to be problems about this land. A certain Mrs. Sri, a relative by marriage, appears to have sold this land illegally to the bank 20 years ago. Rumidja's older sister Turini then bought the land back. Mrs. Sri now also appears to have the audacity to reclaim this land herself. Her brother-in-law Omo becomes seriously ill as a result of all these complications. Rumidja is committed to her sister Turini and is in favor of having Omo's wish for the son and daughter of both families to be married off to each other in order to settle the feud. Omo dies in peace and the marriage is consummated. However, there is still a small problem: Rumidja's house appears to be on the wrong plot according to the land registry. But don't worry. With the combined efforts of about a hundred young men from the village, the entire wooden house is lifted on long bamboo sticks and moved a few dozen meters to the adjacent plot.

These rivers had disasters since ancient times, and people throughout the history have tried all kinds of methods to control the disasters and tackle the water crisis. The natural change of environment and over exploitation of land near the river has caused some lakes to shrink. For example, Dongting Lake, Yunmeng Lakes, Hangjing River have all shrank during the past decades. This episode also illustrates the new program: Sanxia Project which could control the power of water in these rivers. People in China still looking for a perfect method to solve the water disasters, and it is still a long way to go.

EPISODE 13: Is there something China can learn from Israel about saving water? Israel is a country famous for water saving technologies and regulations while still experiencing rapid development. When flushing a toilet in any Chinese city, a person flushes away the amount of water desperately needed by a family for a week in some areas in the Ningxia province. Yet, in Ningxia and Gansu provinces in Northwest China, developers bid and get large industrial projects that demand high quotas of water. During the hot summers, a bottle of water can be more expensive then buying gas for a car. Yet, people are buying bottled water as well as wasting water every day in a variety of thoughtless ways. It is not that the people of China are lacking inspiration from their own history on how to save water and how to share it. Ancient water-saving facilities and techniques such as the Karez irrigation well (northwest China) and water use in Beijing's Beihai Circular Wall have been in use for thousands of years. But what may now be lacking is the determination to solve the immediate problem of this severe water crisis. Finding a solution will require individuals, communities, corporations and government units work together and make unselfish decisions to share water and on spending money to save the water. China's survival may depend on these decisions and this kind of cooperation. It takes determination of all people living and working in China to solve this major crisis."
