The first is a diary of a journey from Steinau, Germany to Point Pass, South Australia, by Carl Leditschke, 2 May - 28 June 1885, including his trip out on board the 'Teal' and 'Liguria'. (Leditschke took the steamer Teal from Hamburg to London, and then the Liguria from London to Adelaide.) He later married his widowed cousin, Emilie Louise Pauline Jansen nee Leditschke. Her reminiscences are item 2, and describe coming out as a child with her parents and her Wurst grandparents on board the 'Peter Godefroi' from Hamburg in 1859. She talks a lot about pioneering life at Point Pass in the 1860s. Item 3 is a short autobiography of her father Johann Carl Friedrich Leditschke. Carl Friedrich Wilhelm Leditschke was born 30 May 1861 at Pronzendorf, Silesia. He arrived in South Australia in 1885 aboard the 'Liguria' and went on to become a storekeeper at Point Pass. He married Mrs Louise Pauline Emilie Jansen nee Leditschke on 5 May 1886, died 21 May 1923 at Kingswood SA, and was buried at Point Pass, SA.
