Arab refugees continue in a mass exodus into Jordan, crossing twisted wrecks or bridges, leaving Israeli-occupied areas.
CLAY
Deposed heavyweight champion Cassius Clay is found guilty on draft-evasion charges and sentenced to five years in prison and fined $10,000, the maximum penalty. Released on bail, he awaits a decision on his appeal, which could take 18 months.
NEW DELHI RIOT
Indian students storm the Communist Chinese Embassy in New Delhi, following the expulsion of two Indian diplomats from Peking on spying charges. Eight Chinese aides are beaten, as their Embassy is stoned, their flag ripped down.
MOVIE FUND
MCA Board Chairman Jules Stein announces that Universal will produce a major film whose profits will go toward the Motion Picture Relief Fund. A search is already underway for a suitable "blockbuster" property. Unions and Guilds pledge cooperation.
H-BOMB FALLOUT
Red China announces the explosion of an H-bomb and world scientists...particularly in Japan....speed air sample measurements for radioactive fallout. Tokyo tests show a steep increase in radiation but no human menace is predicted for the east or west atmosphere.
ROYAL ASCOT
Pomp, pageantry, tradition, fashion...and some horseracing...mingle as Royal Ascot racing week opens in England. Among the celebrities: derby-hatted Bing Crosby. Among the highlights: an exotic collection of ladies headgear!
MOTO-CROSS RACE

LBJ-MEXICO
Presidents Johnson and Ordaz settle a century-old U.S.-Mexican border dispute as a brief ceremony returns to Mexico 437 acres of land separated when the Rio Grande changed course in the 1850's.
CORONATION
After 26 years, the Shah of Iran crowns himself "King of Kings" and his Empress, Farah, the first crowned Queen in his nation's history. Pomp and splendor recalls Old Persia as the new Monarch pledges more progress and prosperity for Iran.
POPE MEETS PATRIACH
Pope Paul and Patriach Athenagoras, head of the Eastern Orthodox faith, meet at the Vatican for church unity talks. The mood is optomistic and a permanent reunification commission may be formed.
VIETNAM
Lightweight, papaedy, maneuverable "Boston Whaler" boats do river patrol duty in Vietnam. They overtake and inspect boats for Viet Cong weapons and supplies.
SHOVEL
The world's first radi-controlled shovel loader is demonstrated in West Germany. It's used in radioactive areas, can lift almost a ton and be controlled a half-mile away.
PREVIEW
A special West Coast preview unreels Ross Hunter's production of the new comedy, "Rosie," a Universal film. Attending are the stars of the picture and many of Hollywood's top-name notables.
FOOTBALL
Harvard just misses nipping Dartmouth as the Indians pull it out in the final minute 23-21, after having led 20-0 in the third period. A field goal is good and Dartmouth keeps its cool, even though Harvard scores three times in the last quarter.

New river-to-air rescue technique in Vietnam is demonstrated as hovering helicopter plucks wounded man in litter from deck of speeding patrol boat, thus saving precious minutes.
NEW BOMBER
The U.S. Air Force adds the A-Thirty-Seven jet bomber to its air power in Vietnam. At hight or low speeds, it carries light-to-medium bombs, special armament, and a 7mm "mini-gun."
POPEYE
Popeye, the Sailor, beloved balloon and star of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for the past ten years, is retired from service due to wear and tear. A retirement party is held in Central Park.
SACRED COWS
India's annual "Festival of The Sacred Cows" includes the feeding, decorating, washing, and worshipping of cows. It's also a public festival and the faithful celebrate at the fairgrounds.
CUSTOM CARS
The National Hot Rod and Custom Car Show in New York displays some weird and flashy vehicles like the "Boot Hill Express," a lop-sided hearse, and the "Cosmo-Ray"....yours for $30,000!
CAR RACE
Vintage cars make a 50-mile run from London to Brighton to the cheers of thousands. The winner: a 1901 Panhard whose 73-year old driver was only seven when it was first built!
CROSS-COUNTRY
36 hundred runners jostle and jounce over 4 1/2 miles around Brussels in their annual cross-country race. Britisher Mal Batty wins but the two-legged traffic jam at the start is unbelieveable.
FOOTBALL
Oregon State upsets Southern California, 3-0, on the toe of Mike Haggard's field goal. It's their third upset this year and it drops the Trojans from number one national ranking snapping an 8-game winning streak.

VIETNAM
The battle for Dakto is the longest, and bloodiest, single campaign of the Vietnam War. More than 1600 enemy dead and 285 American lives testify to its ferocity. Artillery and mortars pound enemy positions and block escape routes.
ROCKETS
In Yugoslavia, rockets shoot mail over the mountain into rural villages. The demonstration interests Post Office officials and space scientists. One big problem: the cost.
WHITE LION
A rare, all-white lion cub is born in Florida and the experts pronounce him a "zoological rarity." He's kept in the lap of luxury, incubator and all, at a local hospital.
HARVARD-YALE
Yale beats Harvard, 24-20, in the last two minutes of the game on a 66-yard Dowling-to-Marting pass. Yale is Ivy League and Big Three Champ but Harvard's determined play late in the game made them scramble for the win.
INDIANA-PURDUE
Indiana upsets Purdue, 19-14, to win a trip to the Rose Bowl, a share of the Big Ten Title, and the "Old Oaken Bucket." Terry Cole scores on a 63-yard run and sets up another on a 42-yard dash.
