JAP PRISONERS LEAVE U.S.
WILMINGTON--Very camera shy, 1,462 Japanese prisoners are loaded aboard a transport for return to Japan, via Hawaii. Some of them may be kept in Hawaii to be used in work battalions.
SKI HERO HONORED
BEAR MOUNTAIN--On the ski jump on which he made many of his records. Torger Tokle is honored in a memorial contest by some of the country's outstanding jumpers. Tokle was killed in Italy while leading his mountain troops to the attack.
FAST COUNT FOR JOE
ATLANTA--Up pops Sergeant Patterson with a gimmick that has three dials and tells you how long you've been in, faster than you can say discharge. They're so popular that 150 are being made. (Exclusive)
FIGHTING TIGERS BACK
TACOMA--The 23rd Fighter Group, which includes the famed Flying Tigers, arrives after hunting Japs all over Asia's skies. An eight-year-old Chinese boy, their mascot, is aboard, officially a slowaway. It's just possible the Tigers know more than they tell. (Exclusive)
PARATROOP TRIPLETS
NEW YORK--The 82nd Airborne arrive, and they're all proud foster pappies to the seven-month-old Glass triplets, whose father is an American GI and mother a British girl. Already they have raised more than $4,000 for the babies.
