THE KOREA STORY
Reinforcements continue to pour into Korea as United Nations forces halt the Red advance on Pusan. GI's screen infiltrating North Koreans and search them for weapons. General MacArthur visits Formosa for a discussion with Generalissimo Chiang on the defense of the vital island bastion. Back home in this country, the United Nations Security Council debate bogs down under the obstructionist presidency of Soviet delegate Jacob Malik.
SUGAR RAY RETAINS TITLE
JERSEY CITY--Sugar Ray Robinson, in the last defense of his welterweight title, completely outclasses Charley Fusari, taking thirteen out of the fifteen rounds, in a bout that was staged for the Runyon Cancer Fund. Among the celebrities on hand are Jim Farley, Walter Winchell and Gene Tunney.
THE HAMBLETONIAN
GOSHEN, N.Y.--In the richest stake of harness racing, Lusty Song sweeps the field of thirteen in two straight heats, winning $40,000 for his owner. It's a close one in the second heat, with Star's Pride giving Lusty Song a run for the money.
