This documentary depicts the religious conflicts that exist in slums and suburbs of Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte, in Brazil, and addresses the growing conservative wave that has spread over the country and resulted in the election of Jair Bolsonaro to the presidency. The unbridled growth of evangelical churches and their relationships with drug gangs has caused an imbalance of religious forces in their communities, resulting in numerous cases of religious intolerance that impact not only worship practices, but also territorial boundaries and the behaviour of inhabitants. This intensely personal film traces the filmmaker’s search for identity within the culture of her Armenian parents and in the context of the larger multicultural society in which she lives. Is it her responsibility to carry on the traditions of her forbears who bear the scars of the Genocide of 1915? Through her story one realizes how the legacy of history has impacted on a people. Those Armenians who survived the catastrophic persecution by the Ottoman Turks became part of a diaspora. The Artinians settled in Canada and fiercely maintained their identity as Armenians. Araz’ father started an Armenian school in Montreal, the Armenian language was spoken at home, and the conscience of the people demanded that the Turks acknowledge the brutality with which they killed one and a half million Armenians and drove out an equal number. When Araz journeys to Eastern Turkey to search for evidence of her people’s tragic history she finds that the guide books never mention the Armenians who once lived there.The Turks have been educated to minimize and explain away the Genocide. The Genocide in Me weaves together archival footage and moving interviews with elderly survivors to create a deeply felt portrayal of a holocaust that needs universal recognition. Given the importance of fresh fruit and vegetables to a healthy diet, the substantial market opportunities and the need to further develop the industry, stakeholders along the entire value chain have decided to develop a strategy for the sector. In response to this, the Government of Samoa requested support from the International Trade Centre to assist stakeholders develop a comprehensive strategy for the fruit and vegetable sector. This initiative is funded by the European Union under the All ACP Agricultural Commodities Programme and in the Pacific Region includes 4 implementing agencies, FAO, World Bank, Unctad and ITC. This film is about the Samoa Fruit and Vegetables Sector Strategy.

In 1978, Debbie, then 8 months pregnant, and many other MOVE family members were arrested after an attack by the Philadelphia Police Department; born in a prison cell, Mike Africa Jr. spent just three days with his mother before guards wrenched him away, and they spent the next 40 years struggling for freedom and for each other. In 2018, Mike Africa Jr. successfully organized to have his parents released on parole. “I realized that I had never seen her feet before,” was a remark he made when he reflected on Debbie’s homecoming. This film meditates on Black family preservation as resistance against the brutal legacies of state-sanctioned family separation.

Dujuan is a 10-year-old Arrernte and Garrwa boy from Mparntwe (Alice Springs) in Australia. Full of life and exuberance, he learns, with the support of his loving mother and grandmother, to hunt, speak two Indigenous languages and become a healer. Dujuan is politically astute and a leader in the making. But within the westernized school system, his strength and intellect go unnoticed and the colonial approaches to education threaten him with failing grades. At the time of filming, 100% of the youth in Alice Springs detention centers were Aboriginal, and throughout the film it becomes increasingly clear that the system is set up to work against young boys like Dujuan. This powerful film, made in collaboration with Dujuan's family, is an emotional journey through the fight to mend an educational schism between traditional culture and colonial ideas and solidify a future for the youth.
