**The image(s) of the document may be omitted here because of copyright considerations** Seven typewritten pages contain an apparent program introduction or interpretive text for an exhibition of paintings and other decorative art of the people of the Sepik River region of New Guinea. The art was collected by anthropologist Donald C. Laycock and the exhibition -- at Australian National University's Menzies Library in September and October of 1971 -- was arranged by him and his wife, artist Tania Laycock. The intention of the display was to consider what effect collectors and investors have had on the kind of art being produced by indigenous people, who formerly made art solely for their own purposes. A written cover pages reads, 'Keep this w. your Sepik papers,' possibly written by Margaret Mead.
