The last accidents of the NPP in Chernobyl and Fukushima give us the new inspiration to verify the safety level of the NPP structures. This paper presents the new requirements to test of the safety and reliability of the NPP structures due to the last accidents in the world. The risk assessment to verify of the safety and reliability of the NPP structures based on probabilistic and nonlinear analysis is presented. The uncertainties of the loads level (long-time temperature and dead loads), the material model (concrete cracking and crushing, behaviour of the reinforcement and liner), degradation effects and other influences following from the inaccuracy of the calculated model and numerical methods were taken into account in the LHS method. The results of the deterministic and probabilistic analysis of the NPP structures are presented.

Accurate material data shared in product lifecycle is the basis of manufacturing industry informationization. But material coding rule is usually different in enterprises. The code rule definition model based on code segment unit was proposed, and the segment unit was divided into four types as flow, selection, input and conversion according to code generating way. The concept of code segment structure tree was proposed to support the code method's adaptability. The E-R model of adaptable coding system was described. The integration model of coding system, CAD, CAPP, PDM and ERP was put forward. Based on the model, generating code before design, generating code after design and generating code offline modes were proposed. Taking a specific material code rule in an enterprise as an example, the coding system's application method was studied. The example shows that the proposed coding method is adaptable and effective.

The time-transition curve of open circuit potential (Eoc) during the single zincating process of aluminium alloy 7075 (AA7075) was recorded. Then, a suitable single zincating duration was selected from the Eoc slope, in order to get the optimum zincating duration. The evolution of surface morphology and composition of AA7075 substrate at various single zincating durations were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive analysis of x- rays (EDX). The coating adhesions of single zincated samples produced at various durations were investigated using a scratch tester. SEM results showed that the substrates produced at a longer zincating duration were fully covered by a dense layer of zinc particles. The adhesion of the electrodeposited nickel on single zincated samples produced at longer zincating duration was higher than the conventional single zincating process. This morphology has contributed to the improvement of coating adhesion.

The paper deals with the monitoring of utility properties of new coating type on the basis of Zn/Mg (ZM). For the comparison there was used commonly used coating in the series production of car-body panels on the basis of zinc (Z100). Measured results markedly contribute to improve production systems of car-body adhesion bonding on the basic of performed evaluation of applied coatings types utility properties quality with regard to influence of temperature and corrosion environment. Testing was carry out by T-peel test acc. to ISO 11339 when such type of loading represents crucial bonding fracture type. Thus results reveal information about behavior of adhesive joints strength properties together with the type of fracture as a criterion for suitable application of new coatings types on the basis of Zn/Mg and their implementation into series production of automobiles.

Within the scope of the project ENERTHERM: Energy efficiency of thermal processes which is funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economy (BMWi) components and systems for high-temperature are being developed. Monolithic oxide ceramics (mullite, Al2O3) and oxide-fiber reinforced ceramics (O-CMC) show a high potential for high temperature (HT) applications. Additionally, the demand for complex HT-components such as HT-fanwheels for kilns, supporting HT-lightweight structures or hot gas liners increases. In according to the required component design, joining techniques are needed in order to realize such complex geometries. The generated joints were made by using commercial glass solder from the type Al2O3-SiO2-MgO. For realizing the joining process sintering-joining in HT-kilns was used because of the homogeneous temperature distribution. A CO2 laser (wavelength of 10.6 microns and a power of 1.5 kW) was used for rapid joining process. The mechanical properties were determined in according to DIN EN 843-1 and DIN EN 658-3 (4-point bending strength) and evaluated according to Weibull distribution.

In multi-material-design, e.g. in the automotive industry, mechanical joining processes like self-pierce riveting are well established, because of their amount of advantages. However, adhesive bonding with one-component structural adhesives is increasingly being used. The combination of the specific advantages of both joining techniques in the form of hybrid joints leads to synergies of quality and reliability, such as high corrosion resistance and better damping properties. A critical issue is the generation of global deformations of the different parts of the mechanical joints. These global deformations of the sheet metal between two or more mechanical connectors (e.g. rivets) are caused by the formation of adhesive bags during the riveting process, before the adhesive curing takes place. This research focuses on the time-dependent formation process of these bags. The aim is to achieve a reduction of global deformations based on detailed knowledge of the adhesive flow during the manufacturing of the joint by means of experiments and simulations. For this purpose experimental techniques and measurement methods for deformations over time are presented for different setups of hybrid joint types of self-piercing rivets in combination with adhesive bonding. The challenge is to track rapid and small surface deformations very accurately in the ongoing mechanical joining process. High-speed optical measurement technology like Point-Tracking and surface scanning are used to track the resulting deformations experimentally. Numerical investigations, which include the interaction of the solid matter influenced in the mechanical joining process and the fluid adhesive, are presented. On the basis a fully coupled fluid-structure interaction simulation of a single hybrid joint, a surrogate model for a multi-point hybrid joint is developed. The comparison of experimental data with simulations allows deriving the pressure distribution and flow velocities inside the adhesive layer. The influence of various parameters can be interpreted based on the physics of the interacting system, ultimately resulting in optimization helpful to the automotive industry.

Kaolin, widely used aluminosilicate source material was added with alkaline activator solution, creating geopolymer coating paste.Optimum design for kaolin based coating using geopolymer technology was studied. The work was to analyses the effect of solid liquid ratio, sodium silicate and sodium chloride ratio and sodium chloride molarity on its adhesive performances on lumber wood substrate. Upon observation, coating with 0.9 solid/liquid ratio, 0.45 sodium silicate/sodium chloride ratio and sodium chloride solution with 6M molarity shows promising adhesive strength. These results were further evident with morphological studies.

The objective of our work is to improve the mechanical stiffness of fiber reinforced laminates. The stiffness can be characterized by flexural and tensile moduli or their derivation. We applied design of experiments (DOE) to achieve our goals, because to solve the existing analytical and numerical models is complicated. We examined the effects of the following parameters: a) composition of reinforce materials (solely carbon, or carbon and glass combination), b) modulus of resin, c) mass ratio of resin-reinforcement, d) order of layers. The samples manufactured on the basis of DOE were investigated mechanically (flexural and tensile moduli measurements) and morphologically (scanning electron microscopy). We compared the measured modulus results to calculated values.
