Hiroshima, Japan: On the 6th of August 1945, the US B29 dubbed the Enola Gay flew over the Japanese city of Hiroshima and dropped a nuclear bomb called Little Boy. The plane, piloted by 509th composite group commander Paul Tibbets was launched from the airbase in the West Pacific, 6 hours flight time from Japan. When it was launched it exploded about 600 meters above the city, 80,000 people were killed outright and an estimated further 60,000 deaths occurred in the following months. There were many reasons why Hiroshima was targeted.
The research and development project that resulted in the design and construction of the world's first atomic bombs was named 'the Manhattan Project'. After test in New Mexico in July, Little Boy was dropped on Hiroshima under the order of President Harry S. Truman, as was 'Fat Man,' the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki three days later.
The US made the momentous decision to use nuclear weapons in a bid to force Japan's surrender and end the six-year-old Second World War. The Japanese surrendered on August 15.

Tower of London: The Tower of London is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Britain. Now days it is a tourist attraction but over history it had many different uses. Its original use was as a fortress; palace and prison, particularly for high profile and religious captives. It was also used as a residence by such monarchs as Richard the lionhearted, Henry III and Edward I. It was so used as a prison and place of torture and execution. At one stage it was also a home to a menagerie and boasted a number of big cats such as leopards and lions.

Bluff Cove: In April 1982 Argentine forces invaded the Falkland Islands. The islands, known in Argentina as the Malvinas, are a self-governing overseas territory of the UK, but had been the subject of an Argentine claim to sovereignty ever since the British invaded in 1833. By 1982, the oppressive ruling military junta in Argentina, headed by General Leopoldo Galtieri, was struggling with an extremely poor economic performance and growing civil unrest. In order to divert national attention and play off long standing feelings of ownership of the islands, Argentina occupied the Falklands.
Crop Circles: Crop circles are patterns created by flattened crops, such as barley, wheat and corn. Over the years they have been reported all over the world, but since the late 1970s have been particularly common in England, specifically along a geological tract called the aquifer line. This is a line of water bearing rock that runs between Dorset and Norfolk.
