Adsorption behavior of four typical thiadiazole derivatives as corrosion inhibitors on copper surface both in vacuum and aqueous media, including 1,3,4-thiadiazole-2,5-mercapto (T-SH), (1,3,4-thiadiazole-2,5-diyl) bis (sulfanol) (T-OH), S,S'-(1,3,4-thiadiazole-2,5-diyl) bis (O-hydrogen carbonothioate) (T-COOH) and O,O'-dimethyl S,S'-(1,3,4-thiadiazole-2,5-diyl) bis (carbonothioate) (T-COOCH3), has been theoretically studied using quantum chemistry calculations and molecular dynamics simulations method, and the corrosion inhibition mechanism has been analyzed. The present conclusions have been experimentally verified by corrosion test. Global activity indices indicate that T-OH has the highest reaction activity among the four molecules both in vacuum and aqueous environment. The reaction activity of T-SH is little weaker than T-OH. For the two other molecules, Fukui indices suggest that T-COOCH3 possesses five electrophilic attack centers, which enable multi-center adsorption of the molecule on metal surfaces and thus it has a preferable corrosion inhibition performance compared to T-COOH in vacuum. However, T-COOH has the higher reaction activity in aqueous. At the same time, molecular dynamics results show that T-COOCH3 is more stably adsorbed on copper with surface (110) crystallographic plane than T-COOH does both in vacuum and aqueous environment when the interaction of the inhibitor molecules with four layers of copper atoms is considered. The theoretical results show that the efficiency of the four inhibitors accorded well with experimental results. The study of the questions of oxidation and discoloration of copper surface is to be provided a new method. Show more Show less

The optimum preparation conditions for FA/CTS composite were obtained and the composite was further characterized by SEM. The adsorption rate of AC B onto FA/CTS is very fast and the adsorption can reach equilibrium in 60... With synthetic wastewater, the adsorption characteristics of acid carmoisine B (AC B) on fly ash/chitosan (FA/CTS) composite material prepared by FA loaded with CTS were investigated using a lab-scale batch experiment technique. The optimum preparation conditions for FA/CTS composite were obtained and the composite was further characterized by SEM. The adsorption rate of AC B onto FA/CTS is very fast and the adsorption can reach equilibrium in 60 minutes. Temperature may accelerate the adsorption rate. Equilibrium experimental data are well fitted to linear Langmuir model with the saturated adsorption capacity of 232.56 mg/g at 25°C and the nature of a monolayer adsorption. Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) isotherm model was applied to describe the nature of AC B sorption, and it has been found that AC B sorption mainly occurred chemically, but physisorption also exists at same time. The values of thermodynamic parameters, the change of free energy (?G deg), enthalpy (?H deg) and entropy (?S deg) of sorption calculated, show that the sorption process of AC B on FA/CTS is spontaneous and endothermic at 25~55°C. The results indicate that there is significant potential for FA/CTS as an effective adsorbent material for AC B removal from dye wastewater. Show more Show less

In this study, different appearances, structures and morphologies of macro-clay G105-Polymer grade montmorillonite (PMMT) and nanoclay Lithium magnesium silicate (LMSH) were compared and analyzed, which were used in different conditions of non-adsorption and adsorption of crystal violent (CV). Adsorption kinetics and properties of the macro/nanoclay in CV solution were studied, and adsorption time, dye concentration and environmental pH were the main factors on the inspection in this work. The adsorption mechanisms of the macro-/nanoclay on CV were investigated. The results showed that adsorption actions of PMMT and LMSH on CV were some similar, such as time-dependent, linear growth of adsorbed CV amount with increasing CV concentration, adsorption capacity of macro-/nanoclay declined firstly and then increased in 10mg/L CV solution along with increasing pH value. But the adsorption differences in two systems of PMMT-CV and LMSH-CV were obvious. Adsorption behavior of LMSH-CV system showed two adsorption phenomena. Under neutral conditions, adsorbed CV amount in 0.5g LMSH was 1.69 times that of PMMT. Adsorption amount of LMSH was more significant to be affected by dye concentration and pH conditions. The research achievements further showed that adsorption mechanism was the root cause of the following difference. The adsorption of PMMT-CV relied mainly on iron-exchange effect of layers replaceable cations and surface adsorbed ions with CV cations, while the significant adsorption of LMSH-CV was mainly due to the electrostatic interaction from layers negative charge distribution and CV cationic properties in the solution, partly surface ions exchanges also existed in the adsorption process of LMSH-CV. Here, we'd like to focus on the detailed process of nanosphere lithography (NSL) which has the advantages of less cost and higher product compared with the referred methods.
