Close-up of a drum that has been placed leaning against a log. The drum has a membrane that is probably made of skin. The membrane is tied to sides of the wooden frame of the drum using strips of fibre or skin. Four wedge-shaped wooden pegs are driven between the skin or fibre and the frame of the drum in order to ensure the membrane is held under the correct tension. The pegs act as tuning pegs to loosen or tighten the membrane, lowering or rais...
