Diary kept by Robert Stockdale of 'Karatta', Robe of a voyage from Liverpool to Adelaide via Melbourne on the 'Planter', 17 Oct 1857-24 Jan 1858, and of life in Adelaide and Robe. The donor, Miss Alice Mary Stockdale Shaw, is daughter of Clara Blanche Stockdale, Robert Stockdale's third daughter. Robert Stockdale, born in England 1835, brought to Australia by his uncle, Edward Stockdale of 'Richmond Park' near Robe, South Australia.
