Grupo Raiz: Amaneceres
El Grupo Raíz se conformó en La Peña Cultural Center en Berkeley, California, al comienzo de 1980. El grupo amplió el trabajo de dos de sus miembros, quienes venían cantando musica latinoamericana por más de un año en peñas y eventos de solidaridad en el norte de California, conformando así una versatil agrupación de seis miembros con un amplio repertorio instrumental y vocal. Grupo Raíz tiene dos objetivos: dar a conocer la música y la cultura latinoamericana, y apoyar a través de su música el movimiento de resistencia en Chile así como otros movimientos de liberación en direrentes países latinoamericanos y alrededor del mundo.
