The bridge has three notches at different heights to allow the strings to be strung across the bridge and held at different lengths.The man has an empty bowl on his knees, and this may be for amplification when playing the instrument. In the background another person can be seen in the right of the image, and in the far background is a building made of wooden poles and mud. This is a giant beetle grub, found by Mowanja. Louis remembers this was huge, about the size of a baseball mitt when rolled together.
