MUSGRAVE HARBOR, NEWFOUNDLAND.--Relief comes to Dick Merrill and Harry Richman, New York actor and night club entertainer, as the wreckage of their plane is found in a bog on their return flight from England to the United States. With the propeller broken in its crash, the machine lies helpless in the midst of desolate flatland along the coast that the fliers hoped to span in the first round-trip hop between America and Europe. The $95,000. plane was forced down in the wilderness when it ran out of gas just after reaching the shore line of North America.

WINDS OF HURRICANE VELOCITY sweep Northward from the Caribbean, turning coast resorts into a shambles as the blow piles mountainous waves upon the shore, smashing small boats, bungalows and boardwalks and disrupting communications over a wide area.--NORFOLK, VA.--Extra ordinary flood tides inundate the business section. As the terrific wind blows itself out, inhabitants turn to the task of cleaning up the wreckage. -- FARTHER NORTH, the Jersey coast suffers from the full intensity of the storm. Sailors and fishermen make miraculous escapes from death, swimming through turbulent seas from their sinking craft. Asbury Park, Deal and Cape May, N. J., are battered. -- NEW YORK CITY. -- Times Square crowds vanish, deserting the playground while driving rain pelts the Great White Way.
BOMBARD REBELS IN ALCAZAR
TOLEDO, SPAIN.--Loyalist militiamen hurl tons of shells against the seemingly impregnable Moorish fortress where 1,200 rebels and their families have been besieged for weeks. Front-line attackers take their ease in armchairs behind protecting barricades. Rebel prisoners march grimly from the Central jail toward their doom.
2,000 HOMELESS IN FLOODS
SAN ANGELO, TEX.--Raging waters on the swollen Colorado River sweep onward toward Austin leaving scenes of desolation in their wake, with homes carried away, bridges torn out, personal property scattered and livestock drowned.
WAR VETS PRAYING FOR PEACE
LOURDES, FRANCE.--Veterans of the World War from many belligerent nations gather at the famous shrine in a mass demonstration during which fervent prayers for peace are offered by the ex-servicemen and others.
OCEAN FLIERS HOME AT LAST
NEW YORK CITY.--Dick Merrill and Harry Richman hop into their patched-up trans-Atlantic plane in Newfoundland, hopping off on the last leg of their round-trip New York-London hop. The Lady Peace comes to earth at Floyd Bennett, ending her long journey while the throng cheers the airmen, and they tell what they think about it all.
4 DIE IN NEWSPAPER BOMBING (Exclusive)
HAVANA, CUBA.--A dynamite bomb explodes with terrific force outside the offices of the newspaper "El Pais," wrecking the building and causing extensive damages to Monserrate Church opposite and to other property in a six-block radius. Twenty-seven persons are injured.
STUDENT TAKES GOLF CROWN

NEW YORK CITY.--The freighter New York slams into a Norwegian vessel as dense fog makes navigation perilous throughout the winding stretches of the East River. Captain and crew of the rammed ship are taken off just before she plunges to the bottom.
