At Cape Canaveral, another historic space test. Two satellites mounted piggyback fashion are carried aloft by a single Thor-Able-Star rocket. Only the second shot of this model, it places both new moons into precise orbits.
ALOHA IKE!
Ike arrives in Hawaii, and receives a warm ALOHA! After triumphal airport greetings, and a procession through Honolulu, he stops over for a few days of rest and golfing recreation after the rigors of his Far Eastern tour.
JAPAN HONORS MacARTHUR:
In New York, Japan's Consul General presents General Douglas MacArthur with the highest award the country can give a foreigner who is not a Chief of State, the Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun.
