Abstract / Summary
Typewritten correspondence between Raymond Firth and Gayle Charles dated February, 1966 regarding a tattoo received by Mr. Charles while he was staying with a family in Tikopia and inquiring as to what kind of fish it was. Mr. Charles includes a drawing of the fish at the bottom of his letter. In Firth's reply, he answers that the fish is a bonito or atu and directs Charles to a reproduction in his article, 'Tattooing in Tikopia.'
