Abstract / Summary
The Italian Collection, Volume 1 brings back into the light concertos by two who deserve a place in the pantheon of composers of immense talent. Viotti’s masterpiece is said to be a reworked violin concerto (by Daniel Steibelt) that is essentially classical with hints at the German romantic spirit and the two concertos by Platti which curiously lay gathering dust for around 200 years ventures towards a Classical concerto with remnants of the Baroque era.
