- Description
"On February 13, 1960 approximately 124 students from American Baptist Theological Seminary, Fisk University, and Tennessee A & I State University staged their first sit-in demonstrations at three stores in the Nashville downtown area." Inspired by the courageous acts of these students, Guy Carawan compiled this collection of songs which chronicles the history of the Tennessee sit-ins, peaceful protests in reaction to the unfair and discriminatory practices of storeowners in Nashville. Extensive liner notes contextualize and accompany the collection.
