Experience the luxury of a seven-day cruise and learn more about Alaska at the same time. This ship sails north from Vancouver and makes stops along the way to enjoy the richness of the land and sea. The first day on this floating hotel is spent getting our sea legs and taking in the beauty of the surroundings. There are also many activities, from lectures on native wildlife to varied sports and swimming in heated pools. The cuisine is exquisite, and the after-dinner entertainment is fun. With over 1,200 passengers aboard, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Our first port of call is Ketchikan, Alaska's first city, where we visit a state park to learn the significance of native-carved totem poles. On our third day of the cruise, we arrive at Juneau, the capital city of Alaska. This city was established during the heyday of the Gold Rush, and we visit a restored gold mine and pan for gold. Then we take a helicopter ride to Mendenhall Glacier, where we land to view the ice falls and formations. Glacier Bay National Park is our destination on the fourth day of the cruise. This is the perfect place to spot whales and other sea life, and a park ranger explains the many types of wildlife that are in the area. As the ship turns southward, our last stop is the historic town of Sitka. Once the central trading center for Russian furs, the Russian culture can now be seen in the traditional folk costumes and dances of the performers who entertain each night. This luxurious passenger vessel navigates the Inside Passage expertly, taking us safely back to our starting point in Vancouver with breathtaking memories of our seven-day cruise.

Here we see Po Lin Monastery's Big Buddha on Lantau Island, Yuen Po Bird Market, and Aberdeen, home of the floating fishing village. In Vietnam, located in the eastern part of the Indochina peninsula, we visit China Beach and the Marble Mountains, as well as the industrial city of Da Nang and the ancient city of Hoi An. Singapore offers a combination of Western style development and Eastern style calm, which can undoubtedly be attributed to its history. It was originally founded by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles and achieved its independence in 1965. The Sri Mariamman Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in the country. Bali, Indonesia, is known for its friendly people, beautiful jungles and mountains, and spectacular beaches; also we visit the Goa Lawah Temple. Australia's Northern Territory capital, Darwin, is a modern city playing a pivotal role in the expansion of the Austral-Asian region. Then on the Queensland coast of the island-continent we visit the popular city of Cairns as well as the treasured rainforests. And the journey ends on the northeast coast of Australia, on the Great Barrier Reef, the site of the world's largest collection of coral reefs.

Virgin Islands, is a 30-square-mile island known for its magnificent coastlines; its Magens Bay Beach has been named one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world by National Geographic Magazine; here we also explore the capital city of Charlotte Amalie. Guadeloupe we learn is two islands connected by a bridge over the Riviere Salee. To the east lies Grande-Terre, known for its resort areas and the capital of Pointe-a-Pitre, and to the west lies Basse-Terre, the larger of the two islands, known for its rain forest, waterfalls, and mountains. The English island of Barbados is well known for its superb beaches; also we visit its capital city, Bridgetown. St. Lucia we discover is a small tropical island and is known for beautiful bays such as Marigot Bay. At St. Maarten we tour the capital city of Philipsburg, located on the Dutch side of the island, which is a favorite duty-free shopping destination for cruise ships. Tortola, which means "Turtle Dove," was named that for its shape and beauty, this British island is characterized as "the Caribbean as it used to be."

First stop on our cruise is Curacao, also known as the Dutch Island, where Dutch and Spanish architecture blend in a picturesque setting. There we visit a floating market that features produce from Venezuela. Our next stop is Grenada, the Spice Island. Cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and mace are some of the wonderful spices produced there; the island is also the second largest producer of nutmeg grown in the world. Shopping is featured at our next stop of Barbados. The Colonade is the leading duty-free resort in the Caribbean. The last island we visit is St. Lucia, where we tour Ft. Rodney, a fortress overlooking Pigeon Island, and its museum. Island stops are featured on this cruise, but The Seawind Crown offers its own unique lifestyle as well, from boutique shopping and a casino to the entertaining nightlife aboard ship.

This program takes viewers on one of the most memorable cruises a person can ever experience - a voyage through history and the Panama Canal. This 10-hour cruise from ocean to ocean is a sailing experience like none other. Here we learn how the U.S. purchased the canal from France and was able to overcome numerous dangers to create one of the greatest engineering marvels of the modern world; it officially opened in 1914. Aboard Holland America, one of the oldest shipping companies in the world, having begun operations in 1873, we discover that ships must pass by three locks: Gatun, on the Atlantic side; then Pedro Miguel and Miraflores on the Pacific side, in order to travel through the canal. This trip also makes stops in Georgetown, the capital city of the Cayman Islands; San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica; Guatemala, to visit the best preserved Mayan ruins in Tikal; and Acapulco, the largest resort city on the western coast of Mexico.
