History comes alive with this account of an important figure and key events of the American Civil War. Unknown Civil War: Chamberlain at Gettysburg combines archival photographs, narrative from leading historians, and dramatic reenactments to present an interesting and accurate account of the battle which changed the course of the war. This film highlights the events on Little Round Top during the afternoon of July 2, 1863, when Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain and the 20th Maine fought courageously to hold off Confederate soldiers. Chamberlain was a college teacher who became a Union general, was wounded six times, awarded the Medal of Honor, and accepted the surrender of Confederate troops at Appomattox. In the end, the Union's victory at Gettysburg came at a high price: 23,000 Union deaths and 28,000 Confederate casualties. Relive the stories of courage and learn of the military strategies which changed the course of the nation forever.

'The Killer Angels' won the 1975 Pulitzer Prize. It was a national best seller and the book on which the popular movie Gettysburg is based. Though the novel is considered a classic of Civil War literature, its author Michael Shaara remains little known despite the fact that he revealed a little of himself on every page. This is the story of Shaara who strongly identified with commanders on both sides of the Civil War.
