Abstract / Summary
Accounts of the Workshop: Central American Women, Violence, and War from the Fourth Latin American and Caribbean Feminist Meeting, Taxco, Mexico, October 1987 Since 1981, Latin American and Caribbean women’s organizations have hosted regional and national feminist meetings to discuss and support feminist movements across Latin America. Discussion topics at these conferences ranged from lesbianism to prostitution and from racism to economic justice. This document focuses on one workshop that took place at the Fourth Latin American and Caribbean Feminist Meeting in Taxco, Mexico. Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua are the nations of interest for this particular workshop. Topics included the actual situation in Costa Rica, the position of Salvadoran women in the labor market, and the revolutionary movement in Guatemala. This document provided what, in other proceedings, would be considered country reports for these five Central American nations.
