- Written from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Writes about Madame Senadu (Senedu Gebru), one of only two women in the Ethiopian Parliament, and the Vice-Chairman. She is coming to the US for two months and should receive VIP attention. Madame Senedu has been to the USSR, but does not appreciate the lack of freedom there, and is disturbed by the number of Sudanese people going to the USSR. She believes in women being active in politics and wants to see the US League of Women Voters and wants advice on how to organize. Strauss was sent to visit her by the United States Information Agency, mentions Miss (Elizabeth) Wheeler.
