- Abstract / Summary
- This document provides a list of topics of discussion and future goals of the International Council of Women (ICW) according to the organization’s 1976 meeting. As they are presented, conference goals often demand a negotiation between United Nation charters and national governments to ensure the protection of women and minorities. Short elaborations accompany each of the twenty-eight points, and outline the ICWs stance on such topics as prisoner’s rights, rape and sexual violence in warfare, nuclear energy safety standards, environmental concerns, the end of sexual discrimination in politics and the workplace, the representation of women in the mass media, and the abolition of human trafficking and international commercial sex.
