Abstract / Summary
This report to the Pan American Union detailed the work of the Inter-American Commission of Women (Comisión Interamericana de Mujeres (CIM)) since the 1949 conference in Buenos Aires. In 1949, Amalia de Castillo Ledon was elected President of the CIM. This report described her transition into that post as well as the physical move of the CIM to the Pan American Union office building. It also outlined her work with and attendance at the conferences of United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNESCO) and United Nations Commission of Human Rights (Comisión de Derechos Humanos de las Naciones Unidas (UNCHR)) in 1949 and 1950, respectively. At the 1949 conference, new members were elected to the Board of Directors, and this document named the new members and noted their roles in the CIM. This document gives a high-level view of the projects of the CIM in this three-year period.
