Details
- Abstract / Summary
- Five pages of notes, mostly typed with handwritten additions, have to do with relationships in the village of Omarakana, the seat of the paramount chief of the northern district of Kiriwina Island. Brief comments are numbered, but not in strict order, suggesting they refer to field notes or some other source. The notes are written in English with interspersed terms in indigenous text -- generally nouns, with some underlined -- as if it is assumed the reader is familiar with the terms. The document also contains 'statistics' on gardens, yam-storage houses, and the men who fill them.
