Abstract / Summary
Eight pages contain Firth's hand-written outline for a revised edition of 'The Work of the Gods in Tikopia, with various items listed by chapter and/or page number, and notes on changes in sequence as compared to the original, 1939 edition. There are a handful of indigenous terms, apparently proper names. The notes also mention islands such as Tonga, more than 1,000 miles away from Tikopia. The pages are written mostly in black ink with a few additions in pencil. A note at the upper-right corner of the first page reads, 'Notes in Tikopia 1952.' One in the corner of the fifth page reads, 'Comment by Spillius.'
