- Abstract / Summary
- **The image(s) of the document may be omitted here because of copyright considerations** A 34-page, printed booklet with a multi-color cover comprises an introduction to the British Schools Council's Place Time and Society course for 8- to 13-year-olds, which considers a new approach to teaching history, geography and the social sciences in English schools. Anthropologist Raymond Firth contributed materials and advice and worked with the Council's research officer to prepare materials aimed to help children understand ideas about exchange and money. In return the Council donated educational equipment to schools on Tikopia Island, where Firth did his most prominent work.
