- Abstract / Summary
- A 30-page pamphlet, 'American Samoa in the South Seas,' by Jack Shields 'Chris' Christensen, gives a brief overview, with many photographs, of the islands and their people. Included with the publication is a bookmark: on one side is a photo of a statue of a bald, Asian man in robes, holding a small sack in one hand, and with a caption in Chinese; on the other is a written note dated Oct. 15, 1973, from Christensen to 'Talofa' - presumably Margaret Mead, as he notes mention of her on a particular page in the pamphlet.
