- Abstract / Summary
- Close-up of a man holding a mondumé (harp-zither), a stringed musical instrument. The instrument consists of a straight long wooden pole and three strings which are strung the length of the pole. In the middle of the pole the bridge is clearly visible - a short piece of lighter coloured wood which is wedged into the pole of the instrument. The bridge has three notches at different heights to allow the strings to be strung across the bridge and held at different lengths. The man has an empty bowl on his knees, and this may be for amplification when playing the instrument. In the background another person can be seen in the right of the image, and in the far background is a building made of wooden poles and mud.
