Details
- Abstract / Summary
- Ecuador's operational risk climate is significantly weighed down by considerable domestic and regional security risks as well as a hostile investment environment characterised by high levels of political interference, foreign investment restrictions in key sectors and onerous legal risks. Investors face significant risks stemming from corruption, regional organised crime groups, policy inconsistency and tight credit conditions. However, strong and improving demographics and developing logistical capabilities make the country a more attractive prospect for freight-reliant and labour-intensive industries.
