Report of the CIM to the 9th International American Conference on the Civil and Political Rights of Women, 1948 In this report, the Inter-American Commission of Women (Comisión Interamericana de Mujeres (CIM)) gave background information on the founding of the CIM and outlined women’s civil and political rights in American states. The CIM compiled information on women’s rights into tables and maps for easy comparison among American states. Topics included: the nationality of married women, women’s political rights, including suffrage, parental rights, and employment rights. This document can be used as a snapshot view of women’s rights.
