Review
Sy Klopps' Berkeley Soul starts off with a jumping blues ("Running Blue") before settling into a 1960s-type soul/R&B date that includes Marvin Gaye's "Wherever I Lay My Hat," Sam Cooke's "You Gotta Move," and Little Willie John's "Walk Slow," along with some more exuberant tunes. Klopps has an appealing and versatile voice, equally skilled on the heated material and the rock & roll-ish ballads. Recommended to listeners who enjoy 1960s crooners. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
