Abstract / Summary
Leaders and participants in the movement at Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1964 describe clashes with local law enforcement personnel, culminating in the tear gassing of the First Baptist Church. Included are the transcripts of two mass meetings and interviews with residents expressing widely varying attitudes towards the movement.
