The CWSS changed its name to the St. Joan's Social and Political Alliance in 1923, supporting membership from other countries. In addition to suffrage, the Alliance supported anti-trafficking efforts and independent nationality for married women as well as equal pay for women and revisions to Catholic doctrine regarding women and the Church.
