Minutes of the International Women’s Suffrage Association meetings from 1902 to 1908. The February 12 through February 17, 1902 meeting in Washington, D.C. was the First IWSA conference convened by National American Woman Suffrage Association. At these meetings they formed an International Cooperation Committee and proposed a Woman’s Declaration of Independence. Names mentioned at this meeting include: Carrie Chapman Catt, J.H. Hughes (Canada – the Canadian delegation was delayed), Florence Fenwick Miller (England), Mrs. Greusen (Norway), Susan B. Anthony, Vida Goldstein (Australia), Sofia L Friedland (Russia), Anna H. Shaw (US), Rachel Foster Avery, Florence Fensham (Turkey), Antonie Stolle (Germany), Carolina Huidobro (Chile), Emmy Evald (Sweden), May Wright Sewall (President of the International Council of Women – not in attendance).
Kramer then included notes entitled "the Records of the International Secretary" after the conference, wherein she describes letters sent to European suffrage organizations, mentioning the names: Madame Mozzoni (Italy), Jeanne Schmahl (France), Madame Vincent (France), Madame Aubert (France), Charlotte Norrie (Denmark), Mrs. M. Godfrey (Holland), Mlle. Mulmin (Switzerland),Anita Augspurg (Germany), Minna Cauer (Germany), Lida Gustava Heymann (Germany), Aletta Jacobs (Holland), Gina Krug (Norway), Mrs. Holmgren (Sweden), Lydia Wahlstrom (Sweden), Miss. L. Huglund (Sweden).
Kramer’s minutes then shift to a meeting on June 20, 1908 held at Aletta Jacobs’s house in Amsterdam with the representatives of the eleven nations with “unsettled business.” Names include: Signe Bergman (Sweden), Adele Schreiber, Rosika Schwimmer, Federikke Morck, Miss. F. Sterling (England), Mrs. Pedersen, Miss Ashton , Mrs. Heineken-Daum (Netherlands), Mrs. E. Hansen (Denmark). After the minutes, Kramer includes a letter sent on June 15, 1908 by Millicent Garrett Fawcett from Amsterdam mentioning the IWSA’s future conference in London, and a report by the Badge Committee written by F. Sterling.
