This selection of documents was compiled in 1938 by the Peace and Disarmament Committee of the Women’s International Organization. In the report, the documents are divided into two categories. The first section provides “recent documents” compiled between 1936-37, including short reports of the Universal Congress for Peace in Brussels, President Mary Dingman’s address at the 17th Meeting of the League of Nations, an outline of the Franco-Turkish dispute over Alexandretta, and a report on Egyptian national sovereignty. The second part of the compilation includes documents which date from 1931-33. These documents help to outline the committee’s early stages of organization and include committee letters to delegates, petitions, various committee correspondence, and documents which help frame committee goals during this period.
