Program of the World Congress of Jewish Women, Hamburg, June 3-6, 1929.
The program of the World Congress of Jewish Women begins with an introduction by Bettina Brenner, Chairwoman of the German Jewish Women’s Organization. The main goals of the Congress include systematic forms of cooperation and unity among national women’s organizations. The program includes reports from numerous sub-organizations including, Australia, Belgium, Danzig, Holland, Palestine, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Switzerland and England. These reports cover topics ranging from workers’ clubs and Hadassah in Palestine to Hebrew schools and orphanages. Furthermore, the German report specifically mentions the connection between the “practical and social work” of members to motherhood and the Czech report highlights cooperation between Zionist and non-Zionist members. The reports are followed by the “Theses for an International Jewish Women’s League” in English and German. A detailed schedule of events in English and German concludes the program.
