Description
Although traditional treatment programs may have been designed with male clients in mind, they did not usually address the powerful impact of gender-role socialization on men’s expectations of themselves. Frank Morales, the guest lecturer, addresses male gender roles in his groups for recovering men. In this session, he involves the class in exploring some of the “myths of manhood” that can impede recovery.
