Nembre-Sse-Te Madre De Deus (Alfonso X)
composed by Alfonso el Sabio, 1221-1284 (1280); performed by Aleksandar Sasha Karlic, Theatrum Instrumentorum; in Cantigas de Santa Maria (Arts Productions Ltd., 2006), 2 mins
This song has no instruments, it is more chanting style I guess. I get the sense of sorrow from the tone of the song. I thought the song was somewhat relaxing to listen to.

Fantasia

I chose this song because it is an instrumental. This is from an album of music from the golden period of Spain.

Pase el agoa, ma Julieta
composed by Anonymous; performed by Dufay Collective; in Cancionero (Dufay Collective, 2010), 2 mins
This song is only vocals but this makes it no less a great song. I do not speak Spanish but it is a beautiful language to hear spoken or sung. All the voices in this song are very powerful which adds more emotion to the song.

Lamentatio Sanctae Matris Ecclesiae
composed by Guillaume Du Fay, 1397-1474; performed by Cançonièr; in The Black Dragon (Canconier, 2010), 4 mins
This song incorporates instruments, polyphony, and melismatic notes. It sounds like a sad song but the vocals are very smooth.

Dueil Angoisseux
composed by Gilles Binchois, 1400-1460; performed by Asteria; in Soyes Loyal (Asteria, 2006), 8 mins
In the description the singer's voice is described as "Meltingly beautiful". I have to agree with that 100 percent she has a very smooth and powerful voice.I believe this is a french song which is also a beautiful language.

Christmas Lauds: Hymn "A Solis Ortus Cardine"
composed by Traditional; performed by Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz; in Christmas Chant - Music For The Soul - Special Edition (Decca Records, 2008), 4 mins
I found this interesting because it is Christmas chants. It is polyphonic with no instruments. The chanting is relaxing to listen to as this album is described as "music for the soul".
